St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Chief for the Division of Anesthesiology at the rank of associate or full member. The po! sition requires visionary thinking to build on St. Jude's foundation of excellence within an interdisciplinary environment. The successful applicant should be a board certified anesthesiologist who has completed fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia and is eligible for medical licensure in Tennessee. The applicant will oversee and provide leadership for all academic, clinical and research activities of the division. The applicant for Chief of the Division of Anesthesiology must possess strong administrative and communication skills, a commitment to education and training, and strong leadership capabilities.
The division provides anesthesia care to pediatric patients with catastrophic diseases including childhood cancers ( > 70 percent), benign hematologic disorders, infectious diseases, and others. The division currently has 8.5 anesthesiologists, 15 CRNA's plus 3 anesthesia technicians, 2 research nurses, and 4 administrative staff members. Anesthesia fac! ulty see patients in their pain clinic and also conduct clinic! al research. The majority of our patients are outpatients receiving anesthesia in various areas throughout the hospital. These areas include Diagnostic Imaging, Radiation Oncology, an outpatient Procedures Department, Pain Service, and the Operating Room suites.

The campus is located on 70 acres in downtown Memphis on the bluffs of the Mississippi River.
