JOB SUMMARY:
The Perioperative Patient Care Technician provides technical and support services ! to registered nurses and anesthesiologists in the care of patients by performing assigned patient care activities and related services. Also assists with the preparation, care, maintenance, and availability of anesthesia supplies and equipment. Assists with invasive line preparation, placement, and monitoring. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED :
HS graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a formal job-related vocational or technical training program of not less than one year (such as Surgical Technology, EMT, LPN, etc.)
BLS Healthcare Provider
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Demonstrates competency in performing venipunctures and removal of arterial punctures and other essential functions of the job.
Understands the principles and procedures related to infection control and aseptic technique.
