DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a 12-month training program designed to develop the following Talent Acquisition competencies: collaborating with Human Resource Analysts regarding the hiring process, creating job postings and developing selling language, providing hiring managers with qualified candidates to interview, and reviewing selected candidates for hire. In the Administration and Management Trainee program, you will develop an understanding of commonwealth hiring processes and procedures for both civil service and non-civil service positions. You will collaborate with team supervisors, agency hiring managers and human resource liaisons, and other human resource professionals in a variety of tasks. This is a unique opportunity to grow your knowledge base, expand your skills, and prepare yourself for promotion to higher level human resource positions!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Work schedule is negotiable within the organization's business hours.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week telework, 2 days a week in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Upon successful completion of the training program this position will be promoted to Human Resource Analyst 1 (General).
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
