Data Scientist Jr [United States]


 

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist interested in a contract-to-hire position to help us develop and maintain internal software products.


Junior Data Scientist responsibilities include writing and testing code, debugging programs and integrating applications with third-party web services, along with assistance in creation and deployment of reporting mechanisms. This role will be under the advisory of the Principal Data Scientist. To be successful in this role, you should have experience using server-side logic and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Write effective, scalable code

    Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
  • Test and debug programs
  • Implement security and data protection solutions
  • Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions

Requirements and skills

  • Work or school experience as a Data Scientist, Python Developer or similar role
  • Expertise with Python data packages (Pandas, NumPy), Python Data Structures and knowledge of general programming principles
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of SQL Querying techniques and SQL integration.
  • Experience using data visualization and Business Intelligence tools (pyPlot, Power BI)
  • Familiarity with Data Engineering Tools and pipelines is a plus (pySpark, Apache Airflow)
  • OCR Experience Helpful – Not required
  • Working with documents in HIPAA compliant manner Team spirit
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or relevant field
