As a member of the CAPNAH leadership team, the Director of Professional Development provides resources to APRNâs in the adult and childrenâs hospitals as well as throughout the ambulatory settings; including oversight for the development of training and programs promoting advanced practice nurses across specialties and population foci, APRN Residency program, and APRN mentoring program. Develops educational initiatives to ensure quality patient care and customer satisfaction and compliance. Acts as an expert resource and liaison to the VUMC community and the Schools of Nursing and Medicine by serving on enterprise level committee or task forces. Represents Vanderbilt within the professional community. Provides leadership to ensure quality (safe patient-centered care) using key organizational strategies, APRN specific quality/productivity metrics and evidence based tactics.
Basic Qualifications
Job requires Masters and 5 years of experience or the equivalent.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
Registered Nurse
Successful candidates will have practice experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Nurse Practioners, CRNA's, or midwives are strongly preferred. Department prefers candidates with experience educating others and developing programs.
