The School of Medicine, Department of Surgical Sciences is accepting applications f! or an Advanced Practice Nurse. This is a full-time billing provider position with work hours of Monday through Friday (day shift). The work location is at the Center for Medical Weight Loss at One-Hundred Oaks, Nashville, TN. In this role, you will lead the medical management of the overweight, obese, and morbidly obese patients. You will assist patients in making healthier lifestyles through medical treatment, education and encouragement. Additionally, you will work with a multidisciplinary team which provides medical management, nutritional education, exercise therapy, and behavioral therapy.

The APN Team Leader has responsibility for administrative, clinical and human resource activities in conjunction with the designated Advanced Practice Providers (NPs, CRNAs, CNMs). Their responsibilities include: maintaining quality and regulatory standards and serving as an administrative link between the APN Team, the division and Department, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital! and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The APN Team Leader! will practice in an advanced role, coordinating the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care within the APN service line.

Interprets policies and procedures to APNs, staff and patients/families
Assists in assuring that clinical assignments are based on patient care needs and collaborates with manager or medical director to update practice model as needed
Assist with compliance, credentialing and regulatory issues, including maintenance of APN protocols or collaborative agreements.
Implements area specific policies and practice guidelines in accordance with VUMC policy and regulatory standards using standardized tools and instruments
Developing People: Developing and Retaining Top Talent, Identifying and Recruiting Top Talent
Interviews staff to meet clinical and operational needs.
Plan and execute orientation for new team members
Ensure completion of competencies of new team members
Mentor team members in research and education efforts.

Maint! ain interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships with other APN programs, administrative team and physician colleagues.
Interface with appropriate inpatient units and clinics.
