Overview
Interventional Radiology Tech (Registered)- DSA Special Procedures
PRN/OCC, Shifts vary as needed ( Must take call on rotation schedule. Must live within 30 minutes of FSRMC for responding to emergency cases)
Position Summary: Provide assistance to the radiologist, surgeon and/or anesthesiologist in performing diagnostic angiographic procedures, complex peripheral and neuro interventional procedures, measuring vascular parameters such as but not limited to blood flow velocity, vascular dynamics, intravascular pressure measurements, oximetry determination, trans-hepatic pressure measurements and pulmonary pressure measurements. The technologist assists in all phases of catheterization procedure including but not limited to insertion of the catheter, operation of various electronic instruments and calculation of vascular dynamic data. Performs 3-D angiography cath volume measurements and intraprocedural CT scans. Performs ultrasound for vascular access.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standard s for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Prefer three (3) years’ experience radiology technologist ARRT (R). Prefer but not required experience performing vascular interventional or cardiovascular procedures and /or surgical procedures involving use of C-arms and/or 3-D spin technology and/or hybrid lab technology.
Licensure Requirement: Must hold current registration as a Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT (R). Prefer advanced certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular-Interventional Technology (CV) category designation. If not, must obtain within 16 months of employee start date. Current ACLS certification or must obtain within 2 months of employee start date.
