YouthPLAYS (https://www.youthplays.com), a publisher of plays for young actors and audiences co-founded by Jonathan Dorf and Ed Shockley, seeks a part-time, US-based independent contractor to help us move plays toward publication.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well from written direction and works independently and efficiently, completing tasks quickly but carefully with an understanding that it's important to get things right. Fluency in and access to Word and Excel required. Candidates should be ready to work in both Google Drive and Dropbox. Fluency in Excel and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
This individual will take on a range of tasks that are part of our standard workflow. Examples: setting up ISBNs for new plays, preparing spreadsheets for plays in our print queue, updating our script catalogue, prepping digital files, responding to scene and monologue requests, etc.
The position is remote and can be done from anywhere with an internet connection (US-based contractors only), so it's perfect for an aspiring writer (perhaps currently in a dramatic writing program) or anyone who is generally knowledgeable about theatre, possesses strong writing skills and is looking for a little extra income on a flexible schedule.
We are also open to versatile candidates taking a more active role and assisting us in other areas (e.g., script reading, proofreading, etc.) as their expertise may allow.
